Writer's picture: Reserved For TwoReserved For Two

15 minute dinner, ready go!

This dish is what the french fishermen were known for eating for lunch. It only takes 15 minutes to make and pairs nicely with a braided bread loaf (on bakery + snacks page) & glass of white wine.

Ingredients:

1lb fresh mussels

2tbs cooking oil

2tbs butter

3 cloves of fresh garlic

a bushel fresh parsley

1 fresh shallot

1c unoaked white wine

1/2c half & half

In a deep pot on medium high heat add cooking oil + butter + shallots + garlic. Let simmer for 2 minutes consistently stirring. Next add mussels + white wine + parsley. Cover and let simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat to reduce the white wine. Next add half & half and let simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve immediately, enjoy!
